Big Bud crossed with Purple Urkle, and the purple is real rather than decorative. Grand Daddy Purple runs 27-28% THC on deep grape and berry, with pine on the exhale and sleep at the end.
Grand Daddy Purple is the strain every other purple gets measured against. It has been on shelves since 2003 and it has not been improved on. The buds are properly purple, not purple-ish. Bright orange hairs run across them and the whole thing is sticky with resin.
Big Bud crossed with Purple Urkle is where the colour and the weight both come from. California grower Ken Estes made it famous out of the Bay Area in 2003. That was over twenty years ago. It’s still the reference point. Very few strains hold that spot for that long.
THC comes in at 27%, which is top-shelf and always has been. Myrcene leads the terpenes, and that is the reason this one settles so deep. Grape carries the flavour. The effect is heavy, slow, and it finishes in sleep every single time.
What arrives first is the head. Euphoria, a clear lift in mood, and the kind of good humour that shows on your face. Hunger lands next, and it lands hard. For a short stretch you’ll feel good and wide awake.
Then the body takes over, and it doesn’t hurry. It builds until sitting down feels like the only sensible option. It keeps building. Dry mouth, dry eyes, and dizziness for some people. Sleep is the last stop and it always has been.
The colour is the whole point and it delivers. Deep purple through the flower, even rather than patchy. Orange hairs run bright across the surface, and there are a lot of them. Resin coats everything. It’s sweet and tacky to handle and it won’t let go.
A lot of strains carry purple in the name. This one carries it in the flower. That’s worth knowing before you buy, because the photograph and the bag will match. It’s also a dense bud that breaks down slowly, so give yourself a minute with the grinder.
Open the bag and grape arrives before anything else. Not grape sweets, but the fruit itself, dark and ripe. Berry sits underneath it. Earth holds the base and keeps the sweetness from running away. It’s a loud smell and it fills a room fast.
The flavour follows the nose and then adds to it. Sweet grape carries the inhale, full and rich. Berry and a general fruitiness sit behind that. Then pine shows up on the exhale, which is the part that surprises people. Sweet first, sharp at the end.
27-28%
Grand Daddy Purple is indica-dominant, 70% indica to 30% sativa. The sativa third earns its keep right at the start, and it’s what keeps the opening cheerful instead of flat. After that, the indica runs the whole show. Evening use. Nothing else really works.
Chronic pain sits at the top of the list here. Insomnia and stress come next, and both are obvious given how it ends. Arthritis, muscle spasms and migraines are all on there too. Low mood and appetite loss round it out. It’s a long list, and a consistent one.
28% THC is a heavy-hitting number and this one wears it plainly. There’s no guessing here. It tells you exactly what it’s doing inside a few minutes. Go under your usual amount the first time anyway, because the back end arrives faster than most people expect.
Grand Daddy Purple is the standard other purple strains are held to. Big Bud crossed with Purple Urkle, 27-28% THC, myrcene leading. Deep purple flower. Orange hairs, thick resin. Grape and berry going in, pine on the way out. Bright at the start, gone by the end.
Grand Daddy Purple is a mainstay here and it sells for a reason. The right pick for members who want a classic indica with real colour and real weight. Take it easy on the first run. Our indica category is full of similar picks, and the flower collection holds the rest.

This stuff sells out quick but finally managed to get some on this new batch. Like someone else mentioned it’s not very purple when you first look at it but there is some purple under the buds. Super smooth smoke with a beautiful white ash. Honestly for the price I think this is one of the best cannabismo has to offer… when it’s in Stock… will order again for sure if it’s comes back in Stock.

Grandaddy Purp has your typical incense-like hash flavour and it has a sweet taste as well! The taste reminds me of purple candy mixed with some lindsay OG or something like that. The flavours combine so nicely though.
The effects are awesome to!
